The cap nut comprises a nut body with an attached cap, ideal for covering the end of a screw thread. It's commonly applied in equipment requiring the screw thread end to be covered with a specialized medium.
Typically, the cap nut consists of a hexagonal nut and a cap. The hollow internal threads of the hexagonal nut are used for mounting onto surfaces, often integrated into the wall. During assembly, the hexagonal nut's threads engage with bolts, allowing the cap to protect the exposed bolt ends. While this setup generally suffices for most equipment, larger equipment subject to substantial vibration can pose challenges.
In instances of significant vibration amplitudes, the hexagonal nut might loosen, leading to the hexagonal nut dislodging from the bolt end or even sustaining damage. Consequently, staff must repeatedly reinstall the cap nut, causing increased labor intensity and inconvenience, especially in cases requiring prolonged installation of the cap nut. This issue escalates usage costs and leads to resource wastage.
